Gryphon Energetics was founded in 2014 with a mission to develop innovative explosives for the Canadian market. Our journey began with the creation of Canada’s first-ever binary exploding target, which offered greater concussion and sound than any existing product. The overwhelming demand quickly transformed Gryphon from a part-time cottage industry into a full-time corporation. In early 2015, our product line was rebranded as THUNDERSHOT®, with the introduction of THUNDERSHOT® Rimfire the following year. Since then, THUNDERSHOT® has proudly held its position as Canada’s #1 selling exploding target brand.
